Most weeks, I try to arrange my work so that I am in the office on Wednesdays and Thursdays. I am also in some other days but I aim on being in mid-week.
This week, I drove into work on Wednesday morning and after work walked the almost direct route to meet the other half when she finished work. The total distance was just under six miles and with a couple of pre-work doggy walks made for a daily total of around ten miles.
The following morning, to get to work by 08:00, I left home at half five. I had a little more time and with the cooler weather, decided to follow the River Cole and then the Grand Union Canal.
The walk went well but I had to make a diversion at Stetchford as the works are still going on under the railway viaducts.
Although most COVID restrictions have been lifted, many workplaces, including mine, are keeping some in place. Noticeably, masks, lateral flow testing and working from home.
The temperature had risen to neigh on 30ºC, come home-time, so decided that it was too warm for the dogs to go out today.
No dog ever died by missing a walk on a hot day but dogs have died by having a walk on a hot day.
Friday will be an easy day, then a twenty two miler for Saturday, including a parkrun (remember those?) and an easier eight on Sunday.
