All of a sudden, and slightly out of the blue, A Coventry Way, is fast approaching. I’ve done this forty miler three times before, in 2014, 2015 and 2017, finishing in 9:28 on my last outing.
I did run a few bits in 2017 but am hoping to finish walking around in around ten hours this time.
I’ve downloaded a .gpx track and uploaded it to my watch in preparation.
On Sunday morning, I’ll pick up the famous Green Book from the event HQ.
The Green Book, describes the route with instructions and detailed sketch maps.
I’ve also been told that I need to bring my own cup for drinks. I’ll be using a water bottle which I can refill at the checkpoints but will bring along a lightweight mug for a cuppa.
I seem the remember that last time it was very hot and sunny and that I had to buy, what the other half calls, a foreign legion hat to keep me cool. The forecast, this year, is for light cloud and a gentle breeze, 6 – 14 degrees.
I’ll be doing the minimum amount of walking from now with a gentle stroll around parkrun on Saturday.
