During my travels, I picked up a copy of Country Walking magazine.
During the past 12 months the magazine has encouraged it’s readers to walk 1,000 miles during the year.
This is something I could achieve so I’ve signed up to walk 1,000 miles in 2017. I’ve managed to walk over 1,500 miles this year but with my running now taking over from the walking I may be hard pressed to cover the 1,000 just walking.
However, the editor has told me that I can walk, run or a combination to reach my goal.
1,000 miles in the year equates to around 20 miles a week so I should easily cover the 1,000 on foot, one way or another. Perhaps I could manage 1,000 running and 1,000 walking ?!
Looking back at my endomondo history, I see that I ran 1,372 miles in 2011, walked 1,630 miles last year and 2,257 miles back in 2013 when I was preparing for The Thames Path Challenge.
I’ve also had an early Christmas Pressie from one of my daughters – a subscription to Country Walking. That should give me some ideas.
