I was hoping to run according to my Heart Rate Monitor (HRM) which was working fine at home but packed up as I walked through the front door! Amazingly, it started again when I got back!!!
The running was easier than yesterday resulting in a rather brisk 10:09 pace – should be around 10:30 or so.
I need to do a run with the HRM functioning correctly so that I can pace myself to burn fat as opposed to glycogen (the form in which carbohydrates are stored in the body). Running in this zone should enable me to run much further (in the future) without hitting the dreaded wall when the body’s store of glycogen is depleted.
