I’ve got a few ‘proper’ walks planned and coming up soon.
On Sunday April 3rd, I’ll be setting off from The Queen’s Head in Meriden for a 40 mile circular tour around Coventry, taking in Kenilworth, Stoneleigh, Brinklow, Beduff (Bedworth) before return to where I started. I did this walk in 2014 and it took 10 and a half hours.
Later in the month, I will be taking part in an LDWA group walk, roughly following the Birmingham Greenway from North of Sutton Coldfield all the way down to Cofton Hackett by the Lickey Hills. The route follows mostly green paths and canal towpaths many of which I’ve previously walked but it will be nice to string all the sections together.
After 20 miles on the Saturday, Sunday should see me in Nottinghamshire for the 4th Batteslaw Bash, adding another 26 miles to the week’s total.
The first weekend of May is when the annual Dudley Trail will be taking place. This event, run by Dudley Council, consist of many walks of varying distances from 6 to 28 miles. Hopefully, I’ll be doing something in Dudley with a colleague from work who is not a regular walker so I’m not sure which distance we’ll be tackling.
After that it will be the biggie – 100 miles around Dorset – It’s getting close !!!
