|10693 steps so far today|
I’ve been playing with a new app for my iPhone, this week. The app is called endomondo life and it’s a simple pedometer which uses the low power motion chip in the newer iPhones to track your activity through the day.
The chip collects data whenever the iPhone is powered up so you don’t need to keep the app open.
Without really trying, today, for example, I’ve managed to walk over ten thousand steps which is around five miles – just walking around at work.
Endomondo life is available in the iTunes store but you’ll need an iPhone 5s or better to run it as the earlier models do not have the M7 / M8 motion co-processor chip.
Earlier in the week, I had a very enjoyable run with some fellow Centurions, around Yardley, clocking up a little over seven miles. I ran with a slightly quicker group than usual but finished comfortably.
I’ve got a bit of a speed session on the track tonight, after work, and a ten mile walk penciled in for tomorrow morning. Another 5k at Kingsbury Water parkrun on Saturday and an easy eight miles on Sunday will finish off the week.
