Cancer Stories

During my cajoling of my work colleagues to sponsor me, I have heard a few tales of how people they know have had contact with macmillan.

One gent at work told me of his uncle, who used to be in a band in the 60’s. When he was diagnosed with cancer and given twelve months to live, he reformed the band and performed a number of charity gigs to raise awareness and much needed funds for macmillan cancer support. He survived for eleven months before passing away.

Another guy said that he was attending another macmillan auction this coming weekend. Last time his other half was bidding against him to raise the price and therefore give more to the charity.

Since starting this challenge and choosing to raise funds for macmillan, I have learnt a lot about the charity and the great work they do. I have heard many tales of how macmillan have helped those with cancer and those who are left behind. I realise who vital their work is and how important it is to raise as much as I can to help them continue.

If you have not already sponsored me, please think about how you would cope if you or someone close to you was diagnosed with cancer. Please donate what you can so that macmillan can continue providing support for all those affected by cancer.
