Above are my stats from endomondo ( a free training tracking site ). I am walking 50 – 60 miles a week with a little running. I’m still walking to and from work which makes for an easy seven plus miles a day without really trying.

I have a half marathon on Sunday on the beautiful scottish island of Arran. I’m not looking at any fantastic time just to get around comfortably. The last time I ran this was in 2011 and it was a scorching hot day. Amazingly, I struggled around in 1:45:08 but this time I probably looking at 1:50 – 1:55 – we’ll see.

I’m on Arran for a week so will take the opportunity to get some hill walking in. Although the Thames Path Challenge is quite flat ( or so I’m lead to believe ) I do have a twenty six miler in August called The Dovedale Dipper – there may be a clue in the title. But as I’m always saying “Hills are our friends!
